The Law of Attraction

Oh Lawyers in Love series. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I first picked up Book 1, The Law of Attraction, last November. I subscribe to several of those daily newsletters with book deals, and at 99 cents it sounded like an excellent bargain. (Hey, it’s on sale again for 99 pennies!

The Law of Attraction (Lawyers in Love Book 1)

Just listen to the synopsis:
Once upon a time two lawyers fell in love across a courtroom …   Gabrielle Ginsberg was a public defender with plenty of nerve and Braden Pierce was an assistant district attorney with a whole lot of swagger. Gabrielle wanted Braden and Braden wanted Gabrielle.  And Cameron wanted Gabrielle.  And Marla wanted Braden.  And Cole wanted Gabrielle.  And Mrs. Mason wanted Braden.  And an anonymous letter writer wanted to keep Gabrielle and Braden apart.  Together Gabrielle and Braden discovered many important things, like which doors at the courthouse actually locked, and that desks could be useful for more than writing. They also found out that the path of love was not always smooth, and it was sometimes tread upon by some really wacky people, like a confused fanny grabber, an eighty-two year old pothead and a gentleman who threw a wine and cheese party in his pants. Could true love overcome a lack of privacy, interference by jealous rivals and the insanity of the criminal court system?   IMPORTANT NOTICE: This book contains explicit descriptions of sexual situations and mature language. It is intended for readers over the age of eighteen. This book is part of a TWO BOOK serial. Part two, The Home Court Advantage, will be released on November 19, 2013. Thereafter, the same cast of characters and story world will be featured in an ongoing series of novels that can be read as stand-alone books.
I absolutely loved it. The characters, the setting….it was just amazing. I’ve never laughed quite so hard. And that’s another great thing about this book. You always laugh. Whether it’s your first read through or your tenth. Gabrielle and Braden want each other from the beginning, which was another aspect I loved. The cases they have in the courtroom are too hilarious and crazy NOT to be true. (The author is a former public defender from PA.) The supporting characters: Jess, Adam, Mark, and Cam –  just add to the hilarity. It’s a love story, it’s a mystery, and it’s a comedy. You cannot go wrong with this book. I’ll leave you with a few of my favorite quotes, and hope you go out and buy it yourself!
“Well, I might possibly be interested, but only if it was like a real dating thing and not just a one nighter with a meal plan.” – Gabrielle
“In fact, I want to have hot sweaty monkey sex with you!” – Gabrielle
